I am Lauretta and I currently work as a Content Marketing Manager at Do it Now Now, the non profit that runs this programme.
At the core of it all, I love everything creative. I work as a freelance photographer and creative director and have been fortunate enough to have my work published and featured by organisations such as British Vogue, Vogue Beauty, E! News, OK COOL, We Are Soul, Mimp Magazine, Kanaiza Gallery and more. What drives my creative work are stories within the community that have been muted because of lack of representation. By exploring the concept of connections and intimacy in a nostalgic way, my work investigates dynamics of love and storytelling within the black community, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what it means to us.
Music is my first love and has never broken my heart. Through my freelance work, I have had the opportunity to work and meet with the likes of Dayo Bello, Knucks, Odeal, Daniel Caesar, Kwaku Asante and more. Name a concert; I’ve probably been to it!! I am constantly making new playlists and music related content for myself and my loved ones. Fun fact: If I could be anything, it would probably be a sunset or a watermelon - don’t ask any questions, I can’t explain it and you shouldn’t want one either haha! If you want to talk about anything music, sunsets or photography related, or just fancy a quick chat, please send me a message.
If you’re also looking for a playlist, check my Spotify profile out for some inspiration.
