London is a vibrant city with thriving creative scenes that offer boundless opportunities for young Black Creatives. It's buzzing with exciting events and opportunities; you are bound to take your creative journey to new heights. There's something for everyone, from workshops and networking events to mentorship programmes and festivals. This blog post will share some of our favourite platforms, events and opportunities tailored specifically for you, especially this summer. So grab your notebooks, and let's dive in!
  • ​Creative Access:
Creative Access is an organisation that supports people from under-represented backgrounds who are passionate about the creative industry by providing opportunities and resources to help them enter and thrive in creative fields such as film, television, publishing, and the arts. Through internships, mentorships, and networking events, Creative Access provides valuable support and resources to help individuals enter and succeed in these industries. Their ultimate goal is to address the lack of representation and create a more inclusive and diverse creative sector. There are currently job opportunities for Midweight 3D Designers, Assistant Producers, Brand and Marketing Executives and more. Visit their website to see all the current opportunities.

  • Roundhouse:
Roundhouse is a multifaceted organisation that ignites creativity and empowers young artists to unleash their potential. Bursting with vibrant energy, it is a launching pad for emerging music, theatre, and spoken word talent. With a jam-packed calendar of electrifying events, workshops, and performances, Roundhouse offers support, mentorship, and opportunities for young artists to develop their skills and pursue their artistic aspirations. Currently, they are running programmes such as “Writing for Theatre", “How to Kill a Pitch”, “Masterclass: AI Scriptwriting", and more.

  • Black Girl Fest:
Black Girl Fest is a groundbreaking festival that celebrates the achievements and creativity of Black women and girls. The event features workshops, panel discussions, live performances, and an exhibition showcasing the work of Black women artists and entrepreneurs. It's a must-attend event for young Black creatives seeking inspiration, empowerment, and networking opportunities. BGF runs programmes such as “The Launchpad Programme”, “Girlhood Digital” and more. Their infamous “The Black Girl Festival” is running on the 5 - 6 August 2023, celebrating the brilliance of our Blackness.

  • It's Nice That:
It's Nice That is a creative platform and media company that showcases and celebrates the best in art, design, and creativity worldwide. They curate and publish a wide range of content, including interviews with renowned artists and designers, features on emerging talents, in-depth articles about innovative projects, and reviews of notable exhibitions and events. Their core mission is to foster creativity and promote diversity within the creative community. They actively seek out and highlight works from under-represented voices, promoting inclusivity and pushing the boundaries of what creativity can achieve.

Heard of Nicer Tuesdays? Join them every first Tuesday of every month as they host an evening of creative talks at London’s Earth Hackney. These evenings are fun, candid and inspiring for creative people of all types from across the globe.
